Medical Tourism Services in Egypt
Comprehensive medical and logistical support
Hospitals Co Egypt coordinates every part of a medical trip to Cairo except the treatment itself. We are a facilitator, not a hospital: we collect and organize your medical reports, connect you with the right specialist at one of our partner facilities, and handle the visa, travel, and accommodation details around your visit. Dedicated pages describe the procedures we are most often asked to coordinate, including cardiac surgery, orthopedic surgery, bariatric surgery, cosmetic surgery, and oncology care. This page focuses on the coordination, travel, and follow-up work that sits around all of them.
Every service described below fits into the same seven-step process we use with every patient, detailed in full on our Patient Journey page. Whichever procedure brings you to Cairo, the coordination, travel support, and follow-up on this page apply the same way.
Medical Coordination
Appointment scheduling, medical record management, and specialist consultations
Coordinating your case starts the moment you send us your first message. Our team collects your existing medical reports, arranges translation when the original language would slow down a specialist's review, and forwards the file to the specialist whose field matches your case. That specialist reviews everything and gives a professional opinion before any appointment is booked. One coordinator stays assigned to your case throughout, so you are not passed between different people every time you have a question.
Appointment Scheduling
Once a specialist confirms interest in your case, we book your first appointment directly with their office and confirm the date and time with you in writing, adjusting around your travel plans where possible.
Medical Record Management
We organize your reports, scans, and test results into a single file the specialist can review quickly, translating documents where needed so nothing slows down their assessment of your case.
Specialist Consultations
We connect you with the cardiologist, surgeon, oncologist, or other specialist relevant to your case, and can arrange a second consultation if you want an additional professional opinion before deciding how to proceed.
Treatment Planning
After the specialist has reviewed your reports and, where needed, requested further tests, we confirm the recommended plan and cost estimate with you before any procedure date is scheduled.
A Single Point of Contact
One coordinator is assigned to your case from your first message through your return home, so you always know who to reach with a question rather than starting over with someone new.
Travel Support
Airport pickup, accommodation booking, and local transportation arrangements
Alongside your medical coordination, we handle the visa paperwork, airport pickup, accommodation, and local transport so your trip runs smoothly from the moment you land in Cairo. If a family member or companion is traveling with you, these arrangements cover them as well.
Airport Transfers
We arrange pickup at Cairo International Airport when you arrive and drop-off for your departure flight, timed around your actual arrival and discharge schedule rather than a fixed slot.
Accommodation
We book accommodation near your treating facility for the length of your stay, matched to your budget and to how far you are able to travel comfortably during recovery.
Local Transportation
We arrange transport between your accommodation and your appointments for the full length of your stay, and can extend this to optional sightseeing once your treating doctor has cleared light activity.
Visa Assistance
We prepare the supporting documents a medical visa application typically requires: an invitation or confirmation letter from the partner facility, an appointment confirmation, and a summary of your treatment plan. We also explain the application steps for your nationality.
Companion Arrangements
If a companion is traveling with you, we include them in the same accommodation and transport bookings and, where the facility allows it, help arrange their access during your hospital stay.
Specialized Surgeries
Cardiac, orthopedic, bariatric, and cosmetic surgery coordination
Each specialty below is coordinated through a partner surgeon who reviews your reports first and confirms whether the procedure is appropriate before anything is scheduled. The summaries here are a starting point. Visit each dedicated page for the specific procedures, the reports needed, and how the process works for that specialty.
Cardiac Surgery
Bypass surgery, heart valve repair and replacement, angioplasty and stenting, and arrhythmia treatment, confirmed after a partner cardiologist reviews your echocardiogram and ECG.
- Coronary Artery Bypass
- Heart Valve Surgery
- Congenital Heart Surgery
See the full cardiac surgery page for reports needed and the step-by-step process.
Orthopedic Surgery
Joint replacement and spinal surgery, confirmed by a partner orthopedic surgeon after reviewing your X-rays or MRI rather than a procedure name alone.
- Knee/Hip Replacement
- Spinal Surgery
- Sports Medicine
See the full orthopedic surgery page for imaging needed and recovery coordination.
Bariatric Surgery
Weight loss surgery procedures coordinated with a partner bariatric surgeon, who confirms which approach is suitable after reviewing your health history and current weight.
- Gastric Bypass
- Sleeve Gastrectomy
- Gastric Banding
See the full bariatric surgery page for eligibility criteria and pre-surgery requirements.
Cosmetic Surgery
Aesthetic and reconstructive procedures coordinated with a partner plastic surgeon, who discusses realistic outcomes with you directly before any date is set.
- Facial Rejuvenation
- Body Contouring
- Breast Surgery
See the full cosmetic surgery page for consultation details and recovery planning.
Oncology Programmes
Coordination with partner oncologists for cancer diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
Cancer care often needs a more carefully sequenced coordination process than other specialties, since a plan can depend on pathology results, staging, and input from more than one specialist. We forward your pathology reports and imaging to the partner oncology team relevant to your case, and they confirm a treatment plan before any travel is booked. Visit our Oncology Care page for a full description of how we coordinate oncology cases from first consultation through follow-up.
Diagnostic Services
Advanced imaging, laboratory tests, and specialized diagnostic procedures
When your treating specialist requests tests beyond what you already have, we schedule them at one of our partner laboratories or radiology centers rather than an unrelated facility. The lab or imaging center sends results directly to your coordinator, who forwards them to your specialist and keeps a copy in your file.
Advanced Imaging
Our partner radiology centers cover CT, MRI, and X-ray at Al-Tahera Radiology Center; ultrasound, mammography, and interventional imaging at Egypt Radiology Center; and PET-CT, DEXA, and fluoroscopy at EGY Scan Center.
Laboratory Services
Al-Mokhtabar Laboratory handles routine blood work, biochemistry, and hormone analysis, while Al-Tayyeb Laboratory covers histopathology, cytology, and immunohistochemistry for tissue samples your specialist needs reviewed.
Cardiac Diagnostics
If you arrive without a recent ECG or echocardiogram, we schedule these at a partner facility so your reviewing cardiologist has current results in hand before confirming a plan.
Genetic Testing
Al Borg Laboratory, one of our partner labs, provides DNA testing, genetic screening, and molecular biology services when your treating specialist requests them as part of your diagnostic workup.
Post-Treatment Follow-up
Video consultations, report preparation, and home country doctor coordination
Coordination does not end when you fly home. We prepare your discharge summary and final reports before you leave, and stay involved afterward so your treating specialist and your doctor at home are both working from the same information.
Video Consultations
We schedule video calls between you and your treating specialist for the follow-up visits they recommend, so questions about recovery or medication do not have to wait for your next trip to Cairo.
Report Preparation
Before you leave, we prepare a complete file of your discharge summary, procedure notes, and test results in a format your doctor at home can use directly.
Doctor Coordination
If your doctor at home has questions about your treatment in Cairo, we help pass them to your treating specialist and bring the answer back, so your ongoing care at home is based on accurate information.
Medication Support
Where your treating specialist has prescribed medication to continue after you return home, we help confirm dosing and equivalent product names available in your country, though your local doctor or pharmacist makes the final call on any substitution.
What This Page Does Not Cover
Being clear about where our role ends
Hospitals Co Egypt is a facilitator. We do not perform any medical treatment ourselves, and we do not make medical decisions on your behalf. Every diagnosis, treatment plan, and surgical decision described on this page is made by the treating doctor or surgeon at the partner facility, based on your reports and their own examination.
The cost estimates our coordinators share with you are provided by the partner facility or laboratory, not by us, and are confirmed only after the treating specialist has reviewed your case; a provisional figure can change once your reports have been fully assessed. Any timeline we mention, including the typical 2-6 weeks from first consultation to treatment completion, is a general planning guide, not a guarantee, since your treating doctor sets the specific schedule once they know your case. If you want to know more about who we are, visit our About page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about how we coordinate care in Egypt
What does Hospitals Co Egypt actually do, and what do you not do?
We coordinate your medical trip to Cairo: collecting and translating reports, connecting you with the right specialist, arranging your visa and travel, and following up after you go home. We do not perform any treatment ourselves and we do not make medical decisions; those are made by the treating doctor or surgeon at the partner facility.
How and when do I get a firm cost estimate?
A provisional figure can be discussed early, but a firm cost estimate only comes after the treating specialist or partner facility has reviewed your reports and confirmed a plan. Costs are set by the treating facility or laboratory, not by us, and can change if your reports show something that changes the recommended plan.
Which laboratories and imaging centers do you work with for diagnostics?
For laboratory testing we work with Al-Mokhtabar, Al Borg, and Al-Tayyeb laboratories, and for imaging we work with Al-Tahera Radiology Center, Egypt Radiology Center, and EGY Scan Center. Which one we use depends on which tests your treating specialist has requested.
What kind of support do you provide after I return home?
We prepare your discharge summary and final reports before you leave, schedule video consultations with your treating specialist for recommended follow-up visits, and help pass information between that specialist and your doctor at home so your ongoing care stays consistent.
Ready to Start Coordinating Your Case?
Send your medical reports through our form or WhatsApp, and we will forward them to the right partner specialist for review. There is no obligation until you have a plan and cost estimate in hand.
